Imagine a time when you needed some assistance. Now imagine the individual that extended you a helping hand. What joy you felt when they came along and brought you out of the situation you were in!
Now is your chance to pass along the kindness by reaching out to someone in need.
LINKS, Low Income Housing Coalition of East Kentucky Inc., is currently seeking local partners to fulfill the dreams of safe and affordable housing for low income families. We are a non-profit organization helping families in Floyd, Pike, Johnson, Magoffin, and Martin counties. With your assistance families in these areas can be helped!
Just think of the difference you can make in the lives of those in need with only one Saturday, two times a year. Ponder on the thought of the positive effect this opportunity could have on a youth group, a church congregation, a club, or even one single caring individual. During this volunteer time you will team up with LINKS’ staff in assisting with small repair jobs such as painting, yard clean up, small porches, wheelchair ramps, etc.
If your organization or perhaps you are interested in becoming the missing link, please feel free to contact Reachel at our office in Martin, Kentucky. If you know someone who needs help with such repair jobs we urge you to call us and let us help them. The chance to put a smile on the face of someone that might not otherwise be there is yours!
There are no fees required for participation in the Missing Link program, but we would ask that groups be prepared to try to provide a modest amount of money for materials.
(Groups who would like to do longer long stays should visit our main volunteering page for more information.)
